Janiah Hinds is a junior at Oakwood University who is majoring in History, with a specialized interest in African American History and a minor in Spanish. Starting her own business, Slay It Proud, helped her discover her passion for African American History, leading her to pursue the path to becoming a professor. Janiah is deeply committed to ensuring that individuals, particularly within the Black community, are empowered through a comprehensive understanding of their heritage, recognizing the profound impact it can have on personal growth and societal consciousness. Following graduation, she intends to pursue advanced studies at the graduate level, with aspirations of ultimately obtaining a doctoral degree.
